In order to use the gmLETSystem and other LETSystems supported by the registry network you need to:

1. register with a Registry (the gmRegistry is the first one to be fully operational with others under development) and
2. open an account in gmLETS and any other LETSystem that you wish to use.

You need to register with GMLR before you can open an account in the gmLETSystem.

To do this you need to sign and return a Registry Aplication Form (a paper version of the Application Form below) and pay the registration fee to GMLR.

On registration, account-holders take out their own unique identifier (ID) of up to six letters. It's just like getting an e-mail address. Your ID is used to identify your account on the computer instead of an account number.

Once you have registered, the Registry will arrange to keep accounts for you, according to your instructions, for any LETSystems or other personal money networks you may wish to use (so long as they are part of the registry network)

Your personal gmLETS account is automatically opened and available for use when you have registered fully and signed the Account Holders' Agreements.

In addition to this, businesses are required to pay the gmLETS bussiness account opening fee before their account in gmLETS is opened for trading (in addition to the registration fee).
Please note that this is not payable to the gmRegistry but to the LETSgo Manchester development project.

The registration fee is £10.00 Sterling for all accounts.

No account opening fees for personal accounts.

The business account opening fee is £117.50 including VAT.
This is comprised of:

• a cheque for £67.50p in Sterling,
• and a transfer from your gmLETSystem account of gm£50.00
