National Employment Action

Hullo Connection Readers,

Please accept our thoughts of peace, consideration and caring toward you all.

The above organisation was formed some two years ago, to be run by and for the benefit of the unemployed.
It started as a campaigning group, as there is much to campaign against. In the intervening period membership has grown steadily, and we have a strong membership in Reading and Somerset, and small beginnings in Wales, north east and the south coast.
As we have grown we have learnt along the way and also benefited from thinking peoples contributions, and several things have become clear to us.

  1. Whilst campaigning is fully justified, it does not actually improve the 'lot' of the unemployed in the short or medium term. (One of our original aims.)
  2. As we become more knowledgeable, and fully understood our predicament, it was perfectly obvious that the Government has no desire of ability to improve our situation, despite us numbering millions. The WORK SOCIETY HAS RUN OUT OF WORK, and the Government has turned its back on us. High unemployment suits their policy of ruling by fear, for the betterment of the rich at the detriment of the poor, weak and vulnerable.
  3. This leaves us with no choice other than to help ourselves. To this end, full consideration has shown us Third Sector Economy methods are the means to our self improvement.
Therefore it has recently become policy to initiate, encourage and support LETS - Credit Unions - Co-operative Community and Business projects, with a view to providing the unemployed with hope and opportunity of a better life under their own control. There is obviously a long road to travel, and it is hoped that we can learn from others such as your goodselves who have travelled longer and further than us.

With this in mind it gives us great pleasure to make you acquaintance and hopefully form a relationship with LETS Connect which will grow with mutual respect, care and consideration, towards enhancement of 'OUR LIVES'.
