Shared Equipment on LETS Registry

Here is another application for multi-system registries and community accounting which arose from a presentation to a community development group recently. The idea is to hold a pool of equipment within a community and report on who has what at any given time. This would operate as a separate system and could use a conventional transaction whenever an item is transferred. So the transaction could look like:

From: John
To: Ann
Date: 05 June 96
Amount: 0
Description: Travel cot
System: shared_equipment

However, this system summary report is not concerned with the balances and turnover, but the extract which identifies who has the wheelbarrow or the pram. This adds value to a conventional LETSRegistry such that more people may be interested in participating. It also means that communities wanting to share many occasionally used items have less effort taking things back to the "normal" keeper or finding where these items are when needed.
